Much of the shallow water research done by the members of USIMS requires diving, for installation of equipment, collecting measurements or specimens or even observing marine life and / or processes. The University of Sydney Dive Team's members conduct scientific research using SCUBA in many different locations over the world. We work to the AS2299 Scientific Diving standards which have been written to maximise effective use of scientific diving and at the same time ensure the safety of our divers. Visiting research divers are welcome. All queries should be forwarded to the Chair of the University Diving
