The influence of natural barriers, spatial proximity, habitat complexity and plant quality on arthropod assemblages in the Sydney sandstone area |
I am studying the influence of natural barriers, habitat complexity and spatial proximity on arthropod assemblages in the Sydney sandstone area. The natural barriers being tested are ridges and large waterways (Hawkesbury River). Within the recognisable coarse vegetation units sampled, habitat complexity scores will be taken and related to arthropod diversity and abundance. Using the results of significant relationships from this, hypotheses will be generated and tested in other areas. If no significant relationships are found at this coarse spatial scale, I will investigate relationships at a finer scale using satellite imagery.
